Hotel Universel

I recently stayed at Hotel Universel Alma while attending a multi-day conference. My overall experience was exceptionally positive, marked by the hotel's advantageous location and excellent facilities. **Location:** Hotel Universel Alma boasts a prime location, surrounded by a variety of amenities including coffee shops, bakeries, restaurants, and pubs. This made my stay both convenient and enjoyable. Although the GPS guidance doesn't lead directly to the main entrance, this minor inconvenience is overshadowed by the hotel's otherwise accessible positioning. **Staff:** The hospitality at Hotel Universel Alma was a highlight. The staff were not only nice but also exuded a genuine friendliness, contributing to a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere throughout my stay. **Conference Facilities:** The conference rooms at the hotel were notably spacious, catering comfortably to the needs of attendees. These rooms, without any noticeable shortcomings, provided a conducive environment for our conference. **Accommodation:** The guest rooms mirrored the high standards of the conference facilities. Spacious, immaculately clean, and seemingly recently renovated, the rooms offered a level of comfort and quality that aligns perfectly with the hotel's promises. **Overall Experience:** Hotel Universel Alma lives up to its reputation, delivering an experience that matches its commitments. Service is great. All the staff speak a little English at least which was perfect for me. Room could've been better ventilated (smells tended to stick around) and temperature was difficult to control. Room was very comfortable. Jacuzzi tub in the room was great.

Nice hotel good location. Pick an even number room on floor 2 to get a great view of the river. My only complaints are they dont use fitted sheets on the mattress so you end up sleeping on the bare mattress by morning. Also theres little black specks in the ice from the ice machine which can only mean one thing.

At first sight the hotel looked a bit of a concrete block and we had trouble finding our way to the entrance (from the lower level car park). However it proved to be very pleasant, clean and with comfortable beds. We had breakfast here and it was good too. We also found the staff to be friendly and helpful

Rooms are nice. Has a pool & a hot tub but the hot tub is just lukewarm; should be hotter. Great bathrobes in the rooms! Convenient location and covered parking. I didn't use the gym as it was small and cramped. No gym/yoga mats I could see & 20lb dumbbells missing. Restaurant on site is handy but lots of local restaurants in walking distance too. We enjoyed having the river view.

Service was good and rooms were very nice! Plus it has a pool and a hot tub, both were well kept

We stayed here for two nights at the ground floor. The whole experience was great. The location is within walking distance of bars and restaurants. The room is very clean. AC was waiting for us to come in, comfortable bed. Available coffee from the room. Very decent bar fridge. WiFi signal at peak hour is weak. No room service while you are staying, due to covid. Mysterious sound at night most likely that’s causing this is the elevator. There is also a bike path nearby with great views of the river. Friendly staff. Over all our stay was very pleasant.

We did have a slightly malfunctioning ac, but it wasn't that hot, so it was fine. The rooms were very clean and seemed brand new. The hotel's installations are also very pleasant, including fridge, pool, spa and movie theatre. There's also a few grocery stores nearby where you can go get cheaper drinks and food, making you avoid paying 3$ for a water bottle. Overall I greatly enjoyed the experience and would come again if I go to Alma in the future.
